Welcome to 2021! I know I am a few days late, but let’s be real like does the new year actually start on the 1st, or do you wait until the first Monday of the year to actually feel it? No? Just me? Okay well hopefully you used these first 2021 days to think about what you want to accomplish this year and if you didn’t, totally fine! We all need a break after 2020. But hey, “Brujeria Business” is back and ready to share what this month may have in store for you!
Collective Card: Queen of Wands
Full disclosure, I was dancing when I pulled this card, but it is perfect. The Queen of Wands is all about feeling yourself! Find that confidence! Everyone has their opinion on how 2021 should go, but do you. Dance while you apply for that new job. Create that vision board and pop a bottle of champagne. You are a Queen after all! Wear that crown any way you want!
Capricorn: Queen of Cups
The Goat, Earth
December 22nd – January 19th
It’s your season and everyone is talking about that “get stuff done” Capricorn mood. But are you feeling emotional right now? Too much pressure to succeed? The beginning of the year is exhausting sometimes because we think we need to just get to work, but listen to your gut and know that you have this. Place the emotional boundaries you need at work. You can be there for others and yourself AND work, but only if it doesn’t cost your well-being.
Aquarius: Queen of Pentacles
The Water Bearer, Air
January 20th – February 18th
Have you been hearing a lot about how we are now in the Age of Aquarius and are a bit confused? Well, this is the age of YOU! This is the time when everyone is wondering how we can help each other out. How can we nurture the collective? It is fitting that you have this card for this month. The Queen of Pentacles is asking you to be open to the idea of collaboration. This is the time to seek a mentor or become one.
Pisces: Nine of Swords
The Fishes, Water
February 19th – March 20th
Do you hate it when people tell you to just stop being so worried? It does no use to say that, so I won’t. What I will tell you is that you are capable of making even a small change now to ease your mind. It may not be as big as you want, but step by step. Try to avoid adding so much pressure around the idea of “New year! New me!” It’s unnecessary and you can be the same you in whatever year you want, or become a new you whenever.
Aries: The Star
The Ram, Fire
March 21st – April 19th
With the new year comes new hope. We look to the horizon, to the stars, to remind us that we can achieve our dreams. Aries, you’re a go-getter! You grab life by the horns and this year won’t be any different. If things haven’t gone well, use this card as a reminder that even stars need a bit of darkness to shine. If things have been good, then know that the stars are leading you to where you need to be.
Taurus: King of Wands
The Bull, Earth
April 20th – May 20th
Be bold! Know that you have what it takes to create your opportunities. You are a leader and can hold your ground. Start connecting with others. See how you can lead them, and how they can open doors for you. This is the time to take risks. If not now, when? If 2020 has taught us anything is that tomorrow can bring a curveball, so do what you can today.
Gemini: The Hanged Man
The Twins, Air
May 21st – June 20th
It’s okay to be lost, or confused, or whatever you may be feeling in your current career. It has been an uncertain time for many. Just because 2020 is over doesn’t mean that problems disappear with it too. But here’s the thing: step back. Reassess. What may be the obvious solution may not be the solution you need. Maybe pausing for a minute and looking at everything before you close one door for another is what you need now.
Cancer: Five of Swords
The Crab, Water
June 21st – July 22nd
Last month you kept your head down and did the work. This month, look around. Have you been so focused on your own work that you haven’t noticed others may need your help too? Or perhaps others are not helping you. Either way, there’s this self-interest vibe going around and it needs to be squashed. This is the time to reach across the cubicle (or screen) and remind each other that we are working with, and not against, each other.
Leo: Seven of Swords
The Lion, Fire
July 23rd – August 22nd
Drop the swords and the act Leo. What is holding you back? Have you done something to cut corners? Or are you just lost and don’t know what to do? It’s okay to be upfront about these things instead of letting pride get the best of us. You have this ability to go off and do your own thing, but why play it lowkey and alone if others can be of use. Just be upfront about what you can do and what you can’t. People will appreciate the honesty.
Virgo: Knight of Swords
The Virgin, Earth
August 23rd – September 22nd
You have the opportunity here to take charge of your career, but be careful to not come off too aggressive. It’s a fine line you walk here with wanting everything to be your way, or the best way for everyone. Go for whatever you want, but don’t let it cost you what you already have.
Libra: The Sun
The Scales, Air
September 23rd – October 22nd
The Sun is shining bright on you! Feel its warmth and take it to work with you. And if things are a bit gloomy where you are, The Sun is doing its best to shine through the clouds to get to you. Find some way to bring The Sun indoors if you are working from home, or in an office. The winter is notorious for taking our sun away, but you can find ways to harness this energy.
Scorpio: Ace of Swords
The Scorpion, Water
October 23rd – November 21st
Keep your head above the clouds and head straight to your goals. Take the challenges that may arise as opportunities to grow. Get all the facts and stick to what you know to be true. Once you begin making moves, make sure that you have a strong code of ethics and are being honest with everyone around you and yourself.
Sagittarius: Seven of Wands
The Archer, Fire
November 22nd – December 21st
A friend of mine made me laugh the other day because she mentioned the term “Sagiterrorist,” and I was so confused because I don’t see Sagittarius like that at all. Instead, I see you as people who know what they want and aren’t afraid to speak that out into the universe. Perhaps what people mean is that you need to learn how to pick your battles. Sometimes we need to walk away from something. No action is an action. But when you do pick a battle, stand your ground and be ready to back it up in the workplace. Don’t be afraid to call HR for reinforcement.
